The pending codes can be read, which is why some suggest dealers/etc. I dont like my answer here because I would like to know WHAT in the pump has gone bad. From what I have read, if the salmon relay isnt malfunctioning then it is indeed the pump gone bad. Simply clearing an ECU code will not save you from failing an inspection. It looks like the code 56 (oasis2007) and P1717 indicate the same possible issue. This is how the state inspection computers work in NY. If that code is not re-triggered again in that time period it will not be able to be pulled. The ECU will also store the code for 60-70 miles. However, if the issue persists, the engine would either throw the code right away, or fire a pending code, which would eventually light up if the test/condition is still not met after a certain period of time for that particular code. The car system will throw a code again if the problem persists. You can not see a code which is already deleted. The code reader or diagnostic tool will ask the module for any stored codes, and it will receive a number in hex format.
